This is kind of a heavy message, but one that we all really need to talk about. Having a dog with issues is a serious responsibility. Injuries (or worse) to other dogs or people can result in lawsuits, loss of freedom (dangerous dog title), inability to obtain insurance, quarantine, having your dog put down, or having to choose to put your dog down yourself. Not to mention the guilt and heartbreak of knowing your dog has done something horrible, and that ultimately you’re responsible for it. When the dog we love starts to show problem behaviors it can be easy to fall into denial. It was just that one time. It was just that particular situation. It was just…

This video is a reminder that if you’ve seen previous issues, take them seriously. Don’t tell yourself stories about it being a fluke. Most likely it’s not. Don’t let your desire for the way you want to live with your dog crash into the reality of what your dog is actually capable of. Take precautions, take responsibility. Get out of denial, and get into reality. It could save you, your dog and everyone else a ton of heartache.
