SEAN O’SHEA

Founder/Head Trainer

Hi everybody, my name is Sean O’Shea, founder and owner of The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation. I founded The Good Dog with one goal: Providing dog owners with the help, answers, and results they desperately needed, along with the care, compassion, and understanding they deserve. As someone who started many years ago with two dogs with serious issues, I know firsthand what it’s like to feel frustrated and hopeless. The good news is, there is hope! My team and I have worked tirelessly to devise a program that offers the very best answers and solutions to even the most challenging K9 issues, which has enabled us to regularly perform “miracles” with dogs that other trainers have given up on, or are unwilling to work with. Our mission and our commitment is to create amazingly balanced, well behaved dogs, and happy, highly satisfied owners. So if you are ready to transform your dog, and your life, we are ready to help.

*Sean is internationally-recognized as the leading LA dog trainer and dog behavior expert, specializing in aggressive dog training. In 2013, Sean was personally hired by Cesar Millan (The “Dog Whisperer”) to teach and train students alongside Cesar for his highly-acclaimed seminar Training Cesar’s Way in Santa Clarita, California.

He’s a regular guest on Jeff Gellman’s widely-heard and highly rated dog training radio show “What Would Jeff Do?”, and authors the popular blog The Good Dog Life Blog. He trains rescue/shelter workers how to more successfully rehab shelter dogs, and travels the U.S. training other dog trainers who are eager to learn his unique approach, techniques, and philosophy, through his and Jeff Gellman’s Train The Trainers program.

If you are a dog trainer and would like to study with Sean, learn more in our Workshops.

Hi! I’m Anri! I have had a passion for animals since I was little and would spend my time learning about animals in anyway I could. I loved watching Animal Planet and The National Geographic channel and realized that I wanted to work with animals.

I went to a vocational school for dog training in Japan for 2 years. Although studying in Japan set my basic knowledge about dog training, I knew that there were other methods I could learn and knew that there were many dogs that needed a different approach to what I have learned in Japan. After graduating vocational school, I came back to LA and worked at a veterinary hospital as a veterinary technician and then at a cage free pet hotel while attending workshops and seminars such as Training Cesar’s Way, LucasAgnew, Force Free method, Pack to Basics and T3.

After attending T3, I started studying with Sean and eventually, Sean welcomed me into his team! I would love to help and be a part of you and your dog’s new life!

Client Support & TGD Trainer

Hey everyone, I’m Shelby! I’ve always had a passion for animals, and fancied myself a pretty savvy dog owner, until I adopted my young Boerboel, Samson. I was determined to do everything right – I read the books, went to training classes, socialized him with different dogs and people. But the more he matured, the more suspicious and insecure he got until he was snapping at strangers and getting into dog fights. I felt so hopeless! I devoured as much information as I could, and tried every training method out there, but nothing seemed to help.

Then I met Sean and Laura. They not only helped me curb my dog’s dangerous behavior, but they showed me how to be a believable leader who could guide him through life and make him feel safe. After my own experience with Samson and The Good Dog, I realized that I wanted to help troubled dogs and the people who struggle with them. I started working at a dog daycare and boarding facility so I could study and observe dog behavior while honing my handling skills, and I studied with Sean and Laura, working with them on a variety of dog behavior cases.

Eventually, I was invited to join the TGD team, and I happily jumped on board. Now I’m able to work dogs through their issues every day, and it couldn’t be more rewarding! I can’t wait to get to know you, and help you help your dog!

ALEXIS

Client Support & Operations Manager

Hi, I’m Alexis, head of client support here at The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation. Before joining the Good Dog Team, I was a client with my own dog aggressive Pit Bull, Duke. At the time I was working in an office and beginning my journey training dogs. Once I saw TGD’s work with dog aggression, I knew I had to learn more! When I combined my skills and TGD’s use of tools and program, I saw huge improvements in Duke’s behavior.

I’m excited to bring my experience with dogs, along with my background in office administration, to The Good Dog Team, and can’t wait to help you along with your own dog training journey!
